Admission & Early Days

All residents are admitted to The Dales Nursing Home following a full assessment by a Hospital or District Nurse. Our Matron will visit prospective residents at home or in hospital to prepare for admission, while all relevant and supporting information is collected from Doctors, Social Services (in same cases) and families. We do consider emergency admissions under certain circumstances.

Your Personal Care Plan will be developed from this point.

Once you arrive you can be assured of a very warm welcome - we will do all we can to help you unpack and settle in both to the home itself and your personal room, which we will help you to personalise to make it your 'home from home'.

Matron will show you around and introduce you to the staff and fellow residents, discuss your dietary preferences and confirm your medication regime. Responsibility for replenishing your medicines will pass to us and we will ensure that all drugs are kept in our locked medicine room.

Advice will be offered and care taken concerning your personal possessions and money.

We look forward to welcoming you to 'The Dales'
