Our
aim
at The Dales is to ensure that every resident receives the maximum levels of
attention and support at all times, providing the highest level of
care.

Provide comprehensive 24 hr nursing care - fully trained nurses are on duty at
all times.

Tailor the care offered so that it relates to the need and the wishes of each
individual.

Recognise and promote the rights of each person. Dignity and privacy are
precious and so we help our residents to personalise their rooms and bring
personal items with them to create their 'own home'.

Ensure the privacy of our residents when, for example, they receive visitors,
make telephone calls and deal with mail. Staff will always knock before
entering someone's room.

Ensure the confidentiality of records and information relating to each person.

Treat each person as an individual and as a respected member of the family.

Assist any person who wishes to maintain dignity through help with personal
appearance and behaviour.
We are
always alert to the dangers of our residents becoming institutionalised.

is important that independence and individuality are safeguarded
by:

Maximising the opportunities for self care.

Encouraging residents who wish to take a reasonable and fully assessed risk.

Ensuring links and contacts outside the home are kept.

Seeking opinions from our residents and their families about the care we offer.

consider it vital that everyone is valued and treated as an

We endeavour to make each resident feel part of a family within
The Dales while at the same time 'outside' family links
are encouraged and maintained.
